We're excited to present the first print by Roeselare-based artist Eveline Ester.
In the work of artist Eveline Ester, color plays a major role. In her city scenes, stripped of grayness and banality, each color surface is connected to the next in a dreamy and architectural interplay of walls, windows, paths and signs.
The closer you look, the more your eye for detail gets nourished by accurate (colored) objects. A traffic sign, a canopy, a nameplate; nothing is added randomly, it seems.
Her work has a Hopperian mood, where the human being is absent but you can still feel his presence, as if the omitted character could enter the painting at any moment.
Wham Office translated Eveline's artwork 'Berlin n°06' (2022) to a limited edition print on wood.
